Novgorodets, Vasily (mentioned in 1618-1621) is an iconographer from Vologda. In 1618 he painted, in company with Zhdan Dementyev, an icon of St. Sophia the Wisdom of God for the St. Sophia Cathedral in Vologda. In 1621 they painted templons for the St. Sophia Cathedral, later Vasily Novgorodets painted festival icons “near the ambon” and the Holy Gates of the side chapel. In 1620 icon-painter Vasily (Novgorodets?) painted in the St. Sophia House an icon of Florus and Laurus.
