mentioned in 1486–1512 – an icon-painter and scribe. His name is encountered in two manuscripts from St. Cyril of Belozer Monastery. Between 1486 and 1489, while in the monastery, he wrote the Synaxarion; his name is also mentioned in 1491 – the year, when he illustrated Alexandria in the Euphrosynus Book.
In 1512 Yefrem painted the icon of The Crucifixion (kept at State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg). G.V.Popov put forward a theory that Yefrem Trebes and Master Yefrem is one and the same person (Popov, 1975). This theory was later substantiated by I.D.Solovyeva (Solovyeva, 1989).
