Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, with the Deesis tier and the Selected Saints

Origin: was removed from the Nikolskaya church in the village of Yakimovskaya of Yuryev – Navolok in Krasnoborsky district, Arhangelskaya region (1885)

In the centerpiece of the icon is depicted blessing saint Nicholas dressed as a bishop with the open Gospel book in his left hand. In the halo of the saint is laid on silver crown with granulation and enamel. Above the centerpiece is the seven figure Deesis with reverend Barlaam of Khoutyn and blessed Procopius of Ustyug bowing to the feet of the Savior. The unusual feature is that Deesis includes martyrs George and Demetrius right behind the archangels. At the sides are pair depictions of saint martyr Blasius, bishop of Sebaste and prophet Elijah, martyrs Florus and Laurus, great martyrs Parasceva and Catherine, Barbara and Anastasia.
