Date: XVII century. Second half of the XVIIth century

Origin: was removed from the church of the Nativity of the Mother of God (1709) in the village of Borok (Chelmokhta), Kholmogorsky district, Archangelskaya region

Material: Wood, cut-back central portion, canvas, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 124 cm, width 103 cm

The special feature if the icon is the scene “Cuddling up Mary” depicted in the center. Border scenes: 1. Joachim and Anne bring offerings; 2. Prayer of Joachim and Anne; 3. Conception of Anne; 4. Nativity of the Mother of God; 5. Cuddling up of child Mary; 6. Saint Joachim; 7. Washing the Child; 8. The priests are blessing Mary.
