Great Martyress Parasceva named “Friday”

Iconography:  Parasceva of Iconium (Pyatnitsa), the Great Martyress

Date: XVII century. Second half of the 17th century

Material: Wood, tempera

Dimensions:  height 72 cm, width 54 cm

The Great Martyress is depicted frontally, full-length holding a cross and an unfolded scroll in her hands. In the upper part of the composition are depicted the two angels putting a wreath on the head of the saint martyress.

Was deposited in 1981. previous location is unknown.

Restoration: Vologda branch of the All-Russian Art Scientific and Restoration Center named after I.E. Grabar, 1995, restorer – Rybakov G.A.
