Origin: From the church commemorating Saint Nicholas (1673) in the village of Dimitrievo, Cherepovetskiy district, Novgorodskaya region (now Cherepovetskiy district, Vologodskaya region)
Material: Wood, tempera
Dimensions: height 104 cm, width 87 cm
Against the architectural background is depicted the high bed with St. Anne lying in it; serving maids are interceding. Below before the bed is the scene of the washing of the newborn baby. In the lower right corner Joachim and Anne are cuddling up the child. In the upper part of the icon at the corners are depicted Joachim and Anne receiving the annunciation about the forthcoming birth of the child. Between them is shown the scene of the meeting at the Golden gates.
