Origin: From the church of Intercession of the Holy Virgin in the Pskovoozersky monastery

Material: Wood, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 91 cm, width 63 cm

The Mother of God is shown lying on the deathbed, the apostles are wailing over Her. Behind the deathbed is depicted the figure of Jesus Christ in the halo with the child in His hands symbolizing the soul of Our Lady. To the right and to the left of the Savior are shown the angels, the saints and the righteous women. In the lower part of the icon is represented the scene of severing the hands of impious Hebrew Aufonius.
