The Mother of God with the Divine Child is depicted enthroned in the glorious halo surrounded by the three highest choirs of the celestial hierarchy (the seraphs, the cherubs and the thrones) and the four apocalyptic beasts. The icon has a specific feature - the position of Mary’s right hand: it is zoomed and looks separate from Her body. Her hand is lowered vertically, it rests on Her knee and resembles a column or a pillar.
