The icon from the Festival row of iconostasis. To the left is depicted the standing archangel Gabriel and the Mother of God enthroned, they are facing each other. Mary holds the purple thread in Her hands. The architectural background of the Pskov icon has a number of specific features. The foreground of the composition shows a parapet hiding the feet of the personages from the viewer instead of the traditional low arcade. The building with the protruding column behind which stands the archangel is also worth mentioning.
