From the Deesis row of iconostasis. The icon depicts the scene of the Ascension of Our Lord. In the lower part of the icon are depicted twelve apostles and the Mother of God with the angels, who are perceived as a whole, their gestures are painted symmetrically and the overspread wings look like a heraldic sign. Above in the mandorla being held by the two angels is the figure of Jesus Christ. A specific feature of the icon is the fact that the glorious halo of Christ is not represented high in the heaven, instead it is depicted practically on the Mount of Olives. On the pinnacle of the Mount is shown the stone with the traces of the Savior’s feet.
