The Yaroslavl icon is a complex iconographic variant depicting the scenes of the Resurrection, the Descent into Hell and Paradise – the meeting between the Wise Thief and his forefather Enoch and the Prophet Elijah. This composition has been spread in Russia since the 17th century.
