In centrepiece inside the red frame is the scene of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.In the lower left-hand corner is the bed with the lying Anne; Serving maids are interceding.Below, in front of the bed is the washing of the newly-born child: the servant with the swaddled child is sitting near the bowl. In the lower right-hand corner Joachim and Anne are cuddling up the newly-born baby girl. In the upper left-hand part of the icon –the Annunciation to Joachim, in the right-hand part of the icon –the Annunciation to Anne near the Golden Gates.Over the centerpiece is the Lord of Sabaoth.
