The images of the ancient prophetesses belonging to the Western iconographic tradition are solemn and representative. Sybils Eritrea and Phrygia are shown bare-headed, wearing smart dresses with rich ornamentation against a conditional architectural The inscriptions partially reproduce the instructions of the iconographic original. Many of Sybils’ names are misspelt. 


Deposited at the Museum on September 29, 1940. Restored in 1994-2002 at the Grabar Restoration Center by E.I.Buchilo.
