Our Lady of the Sign, with Murom's saints

Origin: From the Nikolo-Naberezhnaya Church in Murom

Material: Wood, tempera

Dimensions:  height 32 cm, width 28 cm

The Mother of God is represented against an ochre background, wearing brown omophorion with golden edging decorated with stones. On Her chest is a golden medallion with an image of Christ Emmanuel. On the left border are saint princes Constantine, Michael and Feodor dressed in princely clothes; on the right border is prince Peter and princess Fevronia in clerical clothes. All of them are not shown in frontal position, but turned to the centerpiece, in prayer to the Mother of God. 


Deposited in the Museum in 1930. Restored in 2002 in the Grabar Restoration Center by A.A.Khardina.
