Date: XVII century. The end of the 17th centure.

Origin: From the Church of St. Elijah in the Wilderness, Yaroslavl.

Material: Wood, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 46 cm, width 38 cm

The central part of the icon represents a dish on which lays the decapitated head of John the Baptist. In the corners are the scenes of The Conception of John the Forerunner, The Nativity of John the Baptist, The Decapitation of John the Baptist and The Finding of Head of John the Baptist.
