In both sides of the central composition we can see the figures of the apostles, carried on the clouds by angels. In the upper part of the central composition there are two scenes showing the apostles breaking the bread (along with the figure of the ascending Virgin they make up the composition «The Virgin Appears before Apostles as they are Breaking the Bread»). At the bottom of the central composition we can see border-scenes with the annunciation of death to Virgin Mary, her prayer on Mount Olivet, Pharisees before a king, the cutting of Avphonius’ hands as the body of the Virgin is carried and St. John prayng before the Virgin’s tomb.
