Origin: From the Padchevarsky Church of Michael the Archangel, Kirillovsky uezd, the Novgorod gubernia.

Material: Wood, tempera

Dimensions:  height 91 cm, width 34 cm

The icon from the Deesis row. John the Baptist is shown as a hermit wearing a goat-skin under himation. He holds an unfolded scroll symbolizing his call for penance, prophesy of the nearing Judgment Day and the Kingdom of Heaven.
