Origin: From the church of the Ressurection (later church of Kazan) at Karelsky Seltso-upon-Msta, Udomelsky district of the Tver Region.
Material: Wood, levkas, tempera
Dimensions: height 119 cm, width 84 cm
Chirst is depicted enthroned against the aureola. His right hand is raised in blessing and his right hand holds the Gospel. In the icon corners are shown the symbols of the Evangelists: the angel is a sign of Matthew the Evangelist, a calf is a symbol of Luke, an eagle is the one of John’s, and a lion is a sign of Mark. However, near an image of the lion one can read “John” while an image of the eagle in the upper right corner is undersigned “Mark”.
