Holy Virgin of Three Hands

The miraculous icon of the Holy Virgin of Three Hands (St. John Damascus) was painted in memory of the healing of the cut-off hand of St. John of Damascus in the 8th century.

The full-length figure of the Holy Virgin holding the Child. The icon shows a silver hand, attached by John the Damascus that was restored to Him as he prayed before the icon of the Holy Virgin. On the borders are the figures of an angel and SS John the Chrysostom, Basil the Great and George the Theologian.
